Dr. Grier held his first pastorate in a small storefront church among the prostitutes and homeless in a drug-infested area of Washington, DC. He often comments that this is where he really attended seminary. In 1998, Dr. Grier established Grace Church. The Church is located in Dumfries, Virginia, the oldest chartered town in the state of Virginia and is part of the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The Church has grown from 12 to serve 600-700 people weekly.
Dr. Grier has run several businesses and is a successful investor. Dr. Grier studied Business Administration at Howard University and has earned a Master's of Education from Regent University. He also has earned a Doctor of Practical Ministry from Wagner Leadership Institute.
Dr. Grier has received numerous awards, including the Strathmore’s, Who’s Who honor. He is the recipient of the 2005 Defender of Marriage Award presented to him by the Marriage Alliance in Washington, DC, for his work on behalf of the American family. He has received letters from as far away as members of the House of Lords in England, as well as members of the United State Congress, for his groundbreaking articles on the slavery crisis in Sudan.
Dr. Grier has served as Co-President of the Prince William County Ministerial Association, the area where he resides. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. He serves as a Trustee of International Third World Leadership Association (ITWLA), chaired by Dr. Myles Munroe and several other boards. Dr. Grier is involved with many other organizations and has been a regular consultant to members of the United States Congress and several state and local officials. He has had numerous invitations to the White House and has met with Heads of State and Christian leaders from around the world.
Dr. Grier has also served as the Senior Editor of BothSides Newsletter, an annual insert into the Washington Post and one of the largest secularly targeted, faith-based magazines in the United States. He has ministered in numerous nations around the globe, as well as become a regular voice in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, through his weekly Ministry Minute broadcast on Praise 104.1 FM and WAVA 105.1FM and internationally on the Word Network.
Dr. Grier and his wife, Yeromitou and their two sons reside in the D.C. metropolitan area.
